Wondering Why I Joined the Military at 18 years Old?
Listen, I'll tell you why!
Listen, I'll tell you why!
My name is Daijah Cobb. I've been serving in the Military for nine years and practicing as a registered nurse for the last five years. I enlisted in the Army National Guard at 18 years old as a 74D CBRN soldier. Four years later, I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. One year later, I started travel nursing and was commissioned from the rank E5 sergeant to a Nurse Officer in the Army National Guard. Now, I work PRN as a Float Pool Nurse, and I go to drill one weekend a month. At 28 years old, I'm a registered nurse in the civilian world and a nurse officer in the Military. Honestly, joining the Military was never my goal, but it has been my best decision. The Military was a tool to get me through nursing school, and it has since opened so many doors for me.
